If this whole scheme was meant to further somehow smear Mr. Obama, it seems to be back-firing and just shines a light on the ongoing obsession. Big fat lies didn't help Romney get elected and maybe Barack will be the new Teflon Pres!

When this story first broke, we were told about a republican congressman who had known this information since october. But...this congressman had done nothing wrong. reporting was on the defense before we knew it was ERIC CANTOR......

Why didn't Cantor say something? Why did he keep Petraeus' secret? What kind of connection does Cantor have to be privvy to this secret?

Eric Cantor is too selfish and hedonistic to want to protect this country and our president. When has Eric Cantor ever acted responsible? If this investigation would of harmed the presidents chance of being reelected Cantor would of been screaming on the news. Cantor was protecting himself and the repubs.....

Why Eric Cantor, and one more repub out of all the republican congress? Cantor is as unamerican as anyone can be. He had and probably still does have a short on the US. If we go over the fiscal cliff Cantor will make millions. Eric Cantor has shown his failure in the House's bussiness over and over............I don't understand how Va. 7th sent him back to congress........Shamefull..................

PS There have been a number of people interviewed about Petraeus who were not very complimentary, one of them Oliver Stone.

Petraeus was the main force behind the request for the "surge" in Afghanistan which has proven to be a failure.

Other journalists question putting a high ranking military officer as the head of the CIA. I tend to think it was not a good idea either.

bugzee,

I have to wonder about the Eric Cantor thing. Remember when Scott Brown used to claim he was privvy to all kinds of inside info? Turns out most of it was bs.

This really should have been reported however to the intelligence committees.

And why is the FBI ransacking the woman's house after the fact??

I thought of the astronaut, too, and I think it was the look in Ms. Broadwell's eye that was reminiscent of her.

I find it interesting that an FBI person came to Eric Cantor with the info in Oct., but that hurricane Sandy diverted attention.

I just feel like there was an attempt to scratch and scrape for any hint of scandal to throw up against Pres. Obama, but then maybe I'm just a little paranoid.

The Europeans take this kind of stuff with a grain of salt and could care less. This goes on all the time. From what I know Petraeus, he was a good to great army officer and public servant. This will be a great loss. Too bad we're not has mature as the Europeans. It should've been left to his family to sort out.

I think Mitt is taking credit for the affair.

I don't know why but this reminds me of that astronaut woman who drove across the country in a diaper to confront the "other" woman who was moving in on her "man". And she was married too.

As the old line goes... don't dip your pen in the company ink!

They were both at fault... putting their personal passion ahead of the needs of their nation. Good riddance.

Did you say recede from the union? :) These are the same Mensa IQ types that threaten to move to Canada because of Obamacare.
