Mining Baron Retaliates with Firings for Obama Reelection

Mining Baron Bob Murray laid off 163 workers and blamed it on the President's reelection last week. This is in keeping with the same tactics the titans of industry used in the election of President McKinley over William Jennings Bryan -- bosses attempting to intimidate workers into voting their way. In 1896, big business' candidate William McKinley won the election and the layoffs didn't happen. In this case, the people have spoken, and mean-spirited bosses like Bob Murray don't like it.

Now that Murray has laid off all those workers through no fault of their own, they'll be eleigible for unemployment benefits.  Will the conservatives start attacking them as lazy, unproductive "takers" next?

Larry Cohen joins Ed to talk about it. Watch.

I still question the legality of someone getting fired because a certain candidate did not win. Get ready for the wrongful termination suits. This is like panic buying in reverse. It is panic firing, yet it has no basis in fact.

Have never cared for Papa John's pizza. All dough and not much else. Pizza Hut and Domino's much better----or buy from your local Italian restaurant.

I have a list of businesses that I will not ever go to and Wallmart and Papa John's are right at the top right up there with the Koch boys-and their paper products which are Zee napkins, and paper towels, and Angel soft T.P., and Brawny paper towels, and Dixie paper products dinnerware, all made under the name of Georgia Pacific!!! I buy Procter & Gamble, or Seventh Generation organic.

You can easily make your own pizza at home by using English Muffins, stores also have ready made dough, and pizza dough, Bobboli makes one, and its not expensive. also there are many different dough recipes on Food Network, com, which you can use all of which are simple. I have a breadmaker, oven which also has a dough setting, which is nice. I like to make my own food pretty much from scratch anyway. Don't buy ready made stuff most of it isn't much good anyway! In other words shop around and watch who you buy from. As a consumer, if I find that a company is doing some kind of crap, I don't buy any of their stuff. When I come back to the states in August, I plan to really buy alot more organic products, anyway! They are way better, and the prices are coming down to very reasonable. that is how you make these people listen, you hit them where it hurts in their pocketbook. some of these people have had it too good for too long and they are selfish SOB's.

Boycott Papa John's...Don't buy pizza out at all. It's better at home anyway. Get it in the grocery store and put your own stuff on it.

We're going to make you lose some of those 22 cars in your filthy sticking garage Papa John. Your pizza sucks anyway. It tastes like dirty gym socks and smells like a sour mop water.

David Frum just said Obama isn't the second coming of FDR because he forgets to thank people who voted for him and Mitt Romney shouldn't be blamed for losing because the people funding him told him what to say so it was their fault that he was turned inside out. Excuse me but aren't you responsible for the things you say and do in your campaign? Would he use that same argument if he were elected? It's not my fault, they told me to bomb Iran?

Please excuse Obama for not thanking each and every individual person who voted for him in the current and past election. He was busy killing Bin Ladin, ending wars, passing healthcare bills, campaigning for jobs bills, vet healthcare, talking to world leaders trying to work out peace plans for the middle east, getting alternative energyplans in motion for ending our dependence on foreign oil, working on Dream Act, working on trade bills with China, working on plans to get us out of debt, secure our nation from terrorist attacks, and still get home in time to read to his own children then get up the next day and do it all again. Yes, he is no FDR, but he is a hellava lot better than stupid Rommel.

It's breath taking to read blogs like Sodahead and note just how many people think all the money you make should be ALL yours to keep. If I have a business selling pizza franchises and make 300 million in personal income a year, I think ALL or most all that money should be mine to keep. I think I should pay about one tenth of one percent for the military and top government decision makers salaries and that is it. No more food and drug admin, no dept of agriculture, no EPA controlling pollution levels and cleanup, no dept of roads and transportation so the roads we have are it, when they break up and get potholes no fixing them on the taxpayer, no national parks, bridges, dams, no medical research so no medical advancement that is not for private industry, no government oversight so your doctor can just kill you without any recourse, any company can manufacture any product that can kill or injure you, no healthcare for anyone except the very rich because no government to regulate how much they can charge you, no police, fire, emergency services, FEMA, no schools, no clean water, air, no stability, civility, no law and order. We are basically a third world country if we did it their way.

And yet the minute these same assholes get into trouble, the first thing they want is some government authority to do something. They don't think they owe anything for it. They should just get it for free and only for them. If someone else is in trouble it's tough titty for them.

I can't get too worked up over you idiots because luckily you are the minor of the minority. You are the crazy fringe of the fringe and your numbers are so small less than a 1/100th of a percent, but it just fries me that you are so stupid. How did you get this way? Is it a birth defect? Were you oxygen deprived at birth? Did you snort so much coke in the 80's that now you are brain damaged and think you need to steal every penny you can to pay for your old age dementia that is on it's way? I just need some way to think about you that makes me less sick to my stomach.

There should be a team of employment lawyers working this case for free. This is soooo wrong, we need a new word for wrong. You cannot be pressured by your employer to vote a certain way and be fired if the election result doesn't please your employer. How is that the fault of the employees of the mine? Did this mine baron stand behind each employee at the polls?

No one ever said Mitt Romney is a poopy head.

We said he is a selfish, stupid, dim-witted, slow, dull, foolish, clumsy, awkward, ham-fisted, inelegant, ignorant, impolite, ill-bred, low class, inconsiderate, boorish, rude, greedy, arrogant, conceited, conniving, manipulative, scheming, lying, duplicitous, insincere, lazy, idle, indolent, privileged, scum sucking, fascist piece of human excrement.

WE NEVER SAID HE WAS A POOPY HEAD.

Mining baron or pizza baron, same thing. Selfish, greedy, evil bastard rich going straight to hell. Hope they like the eternity they are building. I sure wouldn't. If I had all that success, I'd be trying to do SOME good with it and paying your tithes at church is not all you have to do. To whom much is given much is expected and helping other rich people doesn't count at all. Helping your own employees get affordable healthcare would be the first thing you should do if you were a rich person worthy of the blessings bestowed on you. If they think for one minute God is going to welcome them into heaven with a 22 car garage on a 30 million dollar estate and employees who don't have decent healthcare, I don't think that my God is down with that nonsense.

The stupid greedy evil rich always claim we hate them because we're jealous of all their money. What we hate is their bad behavior. Most poor and middle class people don't expect ever to be rich. What we want is a few comforts and security for our work. We want to have a little in savings for old age, we want a modest house, affordable healthcare and college for our children, wages that cover our bills, and a few gadgets. That is not much to ask in exchange for a life of hard work and the rich everyday and every waking hour conspire to take all that away from us so they can have a little more stuff they don't need. They trick old people and unschooled into second mortgages and balloon payments, they lobby for privatizing social security and medicare, try to break up unions that protect worker wages and conditions, and develop complicated schemes to bilk peoples 401k accounts. In government, every republican administration runs up the national debt so they can point to entitlements and say we can no longer afford them.

The rich would be a more sympathetic group if they would just stop having sex orgies with the money. Why does anyone need a 22 car garage, let alone 22 cars? It isn't right. That kind of spending is vulgar and this is what people hate about the rich.

Money makes people crazy. Rich use it to hurt other people, to influence legislators to write laws that help themselves at the expense of others, or unfairly control the market for wages and benefits.

Pay people a proper wage and healthcare. Stop buying Papa John's. That dude has a 22 car garage on an estate worth 400 million and he said it would cost customer's an additional .11 cents per pizza to pay for healthcare. He isn't chipping in at all. He's going to shift all the cost to customers who said they'd be happy to pay it. Well not anymore because we're not buying your sticking pizza.

If you want really good pizza and much faster than delivery, buy a Freschetta Naturally Rising Supreme in the grocery store freezer. It costs about $6 bucks and takes 20 minutes to bake at home and tastes like take out. If you like extra cheese or healthier ingredients, you can brush all the frozen veggies and meat off and put your own stuff on the pizza. I like feta cheese and sundried tomatoes on my pizza and you can't get that anywhere. I usually brush off half the meat and replace the cheese with lowfat parmesean instead of mozzarella. It makes a much healthier pizza and you didn't have to pay $16 to a facist pig to get it. Happy pizza night!

Aw...they're just showing sour grapes. Just too bad that ol f..t, Murray doesn't show a little "Christian" charity (isn't the right wing always touting the bible) and not take his frustration on the election out on his employees.
