Polls show the Presidential race tightening following the strong showing from Mitt Romney in the first Presidential debate. Big Eddie is live in Miami to break down the latest.
Lets face it. If President Obama doesn't hit this one (the debate next week) out of the park, say hello to President Romney. Obama has never been a strong debater but a little preparation and a little anger can go a long way. Stop letting Romney interrupt; stop looking down and out of it; point out when he, Romney, says something inconsistent with his prior statements; bring up the 47% and no clear plan on how he, Romney, will create jobs; bring up Romney's positions that are anti-women, anti-hispanic and anti-worker. People are hurting and looking for someone who sounds enthusiastic and at least says he will create jobs. Mr. President show some enthusiasm and stop apologizing for anything in the last four years. Given the hand who were dwelt, there's no need to apologize for anything. Anyway just my humble suggestions.

Right on, Linda. I smell a big GOP, election stealing rat behind this "narrowing polls" crap. Like anyone voting for Obama would shift after that debate..really??
This is in preparation for the big "upset" when the GOP steals millions of votes. Let's not let them get away with it again!!
TAX THE RICH and preserve democracy... vote, vote, vote.. it's your duty!!

On Ohio, can anyone really see the SC taking this up at this late date??? Even in 2000 they said voting standards must be uniform across the state in every state. So the GOP just kicks it back to partisan Florida SC. Illegal intervention. Their guy wins.
I cannot see that happening again. The American people will take to the streets in protests. This Ohio thing is aleady creating a huge backlash because of its partisan transparency. The teabaggers are going all "states rights" thinking that is going to gain them an advangate.
Sorry Husted, "voters rights" trumps "states rights" any day of the week. I doubt the SC will even vote to take the matter up at this late date. They will defer to the lower court ruling.
Someone tell me how all of a sudden the GOP favors the military so much that they are going to let only them vote the last 3 days before the election. They could care less about the military, that much is a given. They voted to cut off their pay during the debt ceiling crisis. They have been callous and ignored the needs of these soldiers on so many fronts.
Ohio may really be the final frontier in this election like Florida was in 2000. Americans are not going to be "bushwhacked" again!

No doubt Barack will have to "bring it" in his next debate. After the way this man has been treated, if it were me, I would be pissed off to the max. I want to see him angrier! Angry is good! We're angry too! After being called lazy and stupid??? Geez! He can't wimp out now if he wants to win this thing, and waiting til the next days "on the road" to answer to his detractors just won't cut it. People are not going to stand up for him if he is not standing up for himself.
But this electoral vote thing cannot be ignored. Hillary tried to tweak that thing every which way but loose in 08 but in the end, you cannot argue with the numbers, they are in black and white. The math doesn't lie.

They don't believe the jobs numbers, why should I believe their "latest polls"? It's classic pub strategy to keep repeating the race is neck and neck with (fill in latest chump right wing candidate) surging ahead as the election draws near! It's called propaganda folks. That's who we are now. The corporate right wing media is all about spin and influence.
I will agree however, that Obama has to show up for the next debate. He can't underestimate the stupidity factor of the Tee Vee smackdown. Many low information voters will base their decision on how you 'appear' on the tube. Throwing all policy or common sense aside, this isn't the Nixon / Kennedy debate era. You also must appeal to the segment of audience looking for the most oohhs and aahhs from the best smackdown performance. Get your Hollywood on Barack.

linda: Answer --- momentum. one has upward one has downward....
it is a serious situation. that can't be down played...i don'twatch tv, computer and progressive radio prefered, but when i do turn on the tv---the ads in wi are terrible. i imagine its been worse for a longer in OH--which might be why that friend an obama supporter was advocating sending that letter to the newspapper about the morman religion. for a while i thought he might be a romney mole, advocating i do something that might hurt the obama campaign?
In the scott walker struggle there were walker supporter, former friends who acted like moles to the recall walker people claiming to be on the recall side only revealing their true side after walker has won the recall...it was bitter. i imagine much like the bourder was between the north & south in the civil war...the repubs(radical ones) use moles. Not transparent truthful people, as a whole, not just romney.the whole grouup of them
the ones with integrity of differing opinion like olympia snow & blue dog dems have left the party.
its a serious, painful situation, that does need to be broken..

electoral-vote.com. As far as I can see this is not a partisan website. They list ALL poll results.
Their tally on electoral votes:
Obama 317
Romney 206
Tied 15
Senate Races
Dems 52
GOP 44
Tied 4
270 needed to win the Presidency. A news source yesterday said the President still has a 70 percent chance of winning.
Why does the GOP all of a sudden think they are running away with this thing?? Another lie that if they keep repeating it will be true????

Read an article that it was single woman that went down the most after the 1st debate...i'm not certain why the first debate would have caused that effect on single woman? perhaps because it was on the economy and president obama did not bring up the lily ledbutter act into one of his answers? first debate wasn't about the social issues of contraception, kinds of "real rape", or the rest that the GOp are pushhing thats a later debate..but the lily ledbutter act would have fit into this one.

Have the polls really tighten or shall we say that this is a GOP conspiracy? Why not play the same game that the conservatives play? In all reality, sometimes it is important to look at the sample of those polled and study the demographics and the questions asked. I have done that in the past and found this information to be very revealing.

First remember to VOTE!!!!!
It is the people who believe foxie and romney that raised the numbers.
Question if the polls were an evil left wing media lie like the job numbers. Why are these same idiots saying the polls are correct and fair now.
