Pat, Linda, nice to hear from yous again. I heard that only 50% of qualified women are acctually registered to vote!

I just wanted to remind every one that you can vote for Tony MASCHIETTO for president. Then we'd see a true example of government by the people. I know what its like to lose a job. I know what its like when youve got bills to pay and arent wealthy. I know what its like to have to sleep in a car. Fortunalely Ive got a steady job now. What we need is more jobs, health care, affordable health care, access to a quality education and green energy. What we dont need is the gop. We need more democrats in congress. And a democrat in the white house. We are getting close, but with voter supression happening, theres no garuntee. I strongly urge everyone to vote by absentee ballot! Its the best way to make sure your vote is counted accurately.

Once again if you havent seen it, my web site is

Also tax the rich! Because they need to start helping our country a little more.

I just want them to confront Romney and expose the fact that he and Ryan are going to use these benefits and cut them to cut the deficit. I am so tired of hearing the word entitlement. Someone needs to ask them in front of the nation why they feel that something a person paid into all their lives has all of a sudden become an entitlement.

Actually Linda, I believe that might be a good thing.... Bernie Sanders the progressive congressman from vt protector of SS,medicare & the postal service is always saying that SS & medicare are separate from the deficit(the economy) is fully funded by payroll tax and should not be included in any discussion of the deficit(economy). If jim lehrer is not including SS&medicare in discussions of the economy, he is validating bernie sanders position that SS/medicare are separate from the economy, that the repubs want to tie together. Way to go Jim Lehrer!!!! I think he's on our side.

But guess what, this subject is OFF THE TABLE in Wednesday's debate according to Jim Lehrer. And it is supposed to be a debate about the economy???

We have been told that SS and Medicare will NOT be discussed on Wednesday night.

Really off topic but want to say it somewhere:

Congress is locked into this lobbiest grover norquist pledge not to raise taxes EVER. Most congressional leaders agree that it is going to take a mix of tax increases with spending cuts to get us out, but because of their pledge cannot EVER raise taxes .

The only way to raise taxes and not violate their pledge, is to let all the Bush tax cuts expire for a day, then immediately vote to reinstate only those tax cuts that both sides agree too. Tax increases never voted for only tax cuts. Taxes for those earning over $250,000 reinstated but a tax increase never voted for. Tax cuts for those earning less than $250,00 voted for. Little Boy games, why we need more woman in congress!

Rob from the lower incomes / give to the higher incomes, is pretty much the repub plan on everything. I'm sick of the wealthiest crying don't tax me bro! Just end the damn Bush tax cuts and get the rates where they were before they helped destroy the economy. You cannot balance the budget with cuts alone. It can't be done without draconian cuts in every middle/ lower class service there is. Look at your own household budget. If your living on a fixed income and everything keeps rising, how much can you cut and have any kind of lifestyle? The top refuses to accept a second rate caviar, but has no problem gutting everybody else's lifestyle. They don't care. That's who they are, that's who the repub party is. It is class warfare, make no mistake about it.

I agree with all the remarks about these idiots. The sad part is that the people who vote for the clown show will be screwed along with everyone else. I have neighbors who are great people who give their time and efforts to help others, but yesterday they put up the romney/ryan sign. I knew they are old school gop and the saddest part is that they believe all the crap they get in the mail and what they hear on fox. Even when we have talked about the election they cant accept the facts that are from independent sources. I have stayed away from politics as they wont change their minds about this president so why try, and they will vote right along party lines even if they get screwed. I pay taxes on what I earn as I have to work some because of the increase prices, and at 67 years old I figured I would be fully retired like my folks were and not going out on fires when we are called to help on out of county or in county fires.

I must say one thing I enjoy doing the fire thing, but it would be nice not to have as we are a one income family for a couple more years then my wife will start on social security also. The clown show will want to cut only the loop holes that will raise the taxes on working americans while finding ways to cut the rate for the wealthy and the corporations. If Romney would have declared his entire deductions it was said his real tax rate would have be about 9% which is anywhere between 20% to 30%. He doesnt even pay much in social security or medicare taxes and he will be allowed to collect on both when he wants to.. 1/4 billion and if he collects on them then this would be the biggest JOKE on the gop=tea baggers and the entire country!!

just my humble views

I am glad that the implications of Romney’s Tax Plan are getting out even though Mitt refuses to discuss the specifics. Besides increasing taxes on Social Security EARNED BENEFITS and giving the money to Wall Street to gamble with like they did with mortgages, Mitt says that he wants to eliminate tax loopholes which may include the mortgage deduction and others that affect the middle class more than the 1%. Mitt also probably wants to include the employee paid portion of employer based healthcare coverage as taxable income. It is not the 47% Mitt is against. He is against 99% of Americans because he and his fellow wealthy libertarians feel they are the victims and deserve MORE wealth and power.

The icing on the cake is the fact that Romney’s VP candidate wants to turn Medicare into a voucher system. The mainstream media and GOP consider Ryan bold and intelligent. I consider him shallow and selfish.

Right, blueb, the only means test for social security should be at the taxing end. A person earning $25,000/year has 100% of their pay taxed for social security and medicare while someone earning $212,000 only has 50% of their income subject to the payroll tax. WTF is up with that. Then we have the "investors" whose "earned income" is reported as capital gains and they pay 0% to social security and medicare, and their pay is in the millions... just ask Rmoney about that!!

TAX THE RICH, NOW!! Is it any wonder they have all the money?

Yeah, the Repubs want to make everyone pay income taxes; even those who rely solely on social security. Remember Romney said that the 47% who don't pay income taxes, etc., etc., etc. Sounds to me like he wants everyone to pay income taxes, even those on social security with no other income. This, of course, is to balance out, the rich guys who play the system and only pay, say 13% or 14% on 20+ million a year income. If Romney, by some chance, wins this election, I'm sure the revolution would be not too far off.
