It really helps to have a short history lesson to put all that is currently going on in perspective. So, BlueB, you think that Sheldon Aldelson's 100B campaign contribution, rather than give it to loser Romney, will instead go directly to Israel to help fund what? An attack on Iran? I hope you are wrong. If Israel gets that money and they are stupid enough to start a war with Iran, it could be the WWIII and that will be the end of the world, wouldn't it. China and Russia will get in because they depend on Iran's oil reserves as well. I believe Israel has a right to defend itself, but not to start a war for the US to have to finish. They are supposed to work within the international community. If Adelson is trying to start WWIII, the CIA needs to have him eliminated.

Well Laura's back on Mitten's bandwagon after he made enough of a fool of himself for her. She approved of his attack on Obama because, you know, the haters have to stick together.
Saw a fb post of my neice saying she wished George W was still pres. He wouldn't be apologizing to Lybia. She's a relative by marriage, not blood, thank God. I have a few wingnuts in my family too, but at least they are the 1% and have a reason to like Rmoney. The neice has a bunch of kids with different dads who are not around, getting aid from the great state of Texas. In other words, she's dirt poor with a Texas education, no offense, Linda.

Blueb Thom Hartmann talked about Iran Contra again on his show today which I am now listening to over here on AFN radio. Hartmann was telling someone about that secret meeting over in Paris attended by some US ambassador and possible GHWBush, the father, in which the US suppossidly paid the Iaranian Govt. money to hold Terry Anderson, and the hostages for one year, thus defeating,Presdient Carter, and keeping them hidde, until Reagan could be elected, and sworn into office, and what do you know, that is exactly what occured. big suprise! I know Linda, HGBush the father is no clean son of a gun. NO indeed! Reagan should have not even become President, Linda. Everytime I see people like Oliver North, and others, I want to throw things at the TV! Bigtime!!

In 1989 the National Security Archive filed a FOIA act request and obtained notebooks and memos written by Oliver North during the Iran Contra affair. It confirmed he was informed of drug activity by the Contras. Yet he reported no such activity to the DEA which leads to only one conclusion. They were using the drug money to fund the whole operation. Pouring street drugs into the streets of America, gee such fine upstanding patriotic men. This was one of the many things Bush hinted about when he said "they would lynch us if they knew what we'd been up to". War crimes seem to run in the family. Grandfather launders Nazi money thru his bank, HW, then W and his Iraq war scam. And Jeb waxing poetic at the convention about their "service to the country". I think it's time they served some real time!

Honestly I think Reagan was clueless for the entire 8 years he was President. They knew they could dress him up, prop him up in front of a mike and camera, and he could be very convincing. Why? Because was a trained Hollywood actor. By the time he was out of office he was in full blown Alzheimer's.
You better believe HW and that Haig guy were big saber rattling operatives. Remember when Haig tried to take over after Reagan was shot? I have never been completely convinced of the official "story" behind that assassination attempt either. Why would they all of a sudden start telling us the truth?
Those drug planes were flying into the US fast and furious. It was the mid 80s when crack cocaine was first introduced into the streets of America. It has been traced back directly to the dirty dealings of Iran Contra. And look what crack did to our society. It is ten times more addictive than heroin. We watched while it ruined the life of one of our young family members.
I wish more people would bring this stuff up. It is this kind of foreign policy that is why we became so hated around the world.
The truth will set us free.

Quite a few posts mention Jimmy Carter, everytime I see the corner gas station raise their price I wonder how much better off we would be now if we had listened to Jimmy and done things his way, we would not be getting shafted by middle east countries now!

Romney seems to think he can win on looks alone. The man has no substance, and his habitual lying running mate even lies about his time in marathon races. He's about as vague a candidate I have ever seen for such high office. The pubs my way or the highway attitude is wearing thin. Checks and balances and compromise between the major parties built this country. They want a dictatorship that benefits the few and craps on the many. I agree with others on here. Look out for the classic October surprise. These people are getting desperate. Let's hope the Obama team has a surprise of their own. You have to be ready to wallow in the mud with the right. I've lost all respect for that party. They have been dragging Barack through the mud for four years in a sea of lies.

Thanks puyallup for looking all that up.....its complex to simplify somewhat and confirm how i am simplifying Jimmy Carter lost to Reagan due in a large part to the influence of external US events that may have been financed internally but was never proven???
