A few months ago, the Republicans saw their chances to win back control of the Senate as a sure thing. Now, it's not looking so good. Democrat Heidi Heitkamp joins Ed to discuss why her strategy is succeeding in a red state like North Dakota.

Also, when you look at some people like KY-Senator Rand Paul, who embarrassed himself on a Sunday show, when he tried to climb all over economist Paul Krugman. Krugman, made Rand, and that Kokie Roberts look foolish. At one time I thought Kokie Roberts had some real smarts, but after that bit on Sunday, I'm not so sure now. Rand Paul is an idiot. He tried to get Krugman going, by trying to lie about there being more Government employees under Obama, than under Bush. that is of cource, not true at all. My husband is a Federal Government employee, with the DOD, as many of you know by now, after me saying it all last year. Civilian employees are and have been really shrinking over the -past year. Especially in the DOD-there are not very many GS-employees, that means people whose paychecks are paid out of money appropriated by Congress. Most of the jobs now are NAF-Non appropriated funds. that means you have to have alot of activities large and small to make the money to keep things like MWR-running efficiently. I know, my husband is special events coordinater, for a big army base in Korea. I am amazed by all the lying, by folks who know nothing about certain things, and still stand up there and lie their heads off, when they know nothings about any of it.

If we can get focused on the state races where we are strongest and win a few seats back it would help.

We've got to RUIN Grover Norquist. His group, American's For Tax Reform, opposes all tax increases. That is NOT a good thing. It is a stupid thing! It is unconstitutional. I don't want ridiculous taxes, but our tax rates are the lowest in the world. Congress has the power to tax to support the activities of government. I want government to tax me and every single person in this country with an income. We have to pay down our huge debt that stupid Bush ran up, build a renewable energy rail system to replace cars because oil will be gone by 2040, and we have to produce a healthcare system that keeps our costs low and covers everybody for basic care. Cutting taxes is not the answer to our survival. We have huge challenges ahead and its going to take money to prevail. All it takes to eliminate Norquist is your vote. Vote Democrat and evict the Republicans. By 2016, we can have a much healthier economy, environment, and a more secure world.

Hope money cannot buy this election. Heidi appears to really care about the people of North Dakota instead of the corporations. Best of luck Heidi.

A lot of people are hopping mad at the obstructionist righties in the Senate and House. Just say no is not a political platform. We actually elect folks to DO something while in office, jobs bills perhaps? not bide their time for two or four years just because your guy isn't in the Whitehouse.
