In the aftermath of Missouri Republican Rep. Todd Akin's reprehensible comments about 'legitimate rape,' Republicans are pressing the panic button and urging him to drop out of the race for Senate. Huffington Post's Sam Stein and Joan Walsh of Salon.com join Ed to talk about it. Watch it.

SlawDogg, that is the reason for voter suppression. Don't be surprised if there are problems with the voting machines in November. There might be more of us, but short of an uprising, "money talks and ethics walk" nowaday in the USA.

I say leave him in! Why? He continues to bring light to the division and hate that the Republican brand really represents.

BTW - the reason the Republicans give more money, is because the rest of us who are Democrat are just struggling to get by. To judge a campaign by how much money you raise, is typical for Republican - Oligarch thinking.

*** Oligarchy = Rule by the weathy. AYN Rand, Paul Ryan, and Romney live this!

There are far more of us than there is of THEM. Use this power to our advantage. The Oligarchs cannot win an election on their own - unless they continue to recruit useful fools amoung us.

I'm uncertain if akin dropping out would improve their chance?. Does anyone besides me get the feeling that this year NO ONE is voting FOR anyone.. Everyone voting AGAINST someone. I like President Obama but this year I'm voting against the tea party. Lucky for me both motives end in the same result. I don't think it matters if akin stays in or not --no one is voting for or against him. people are voting for or against McCaskell. No one is voting for Romney/Ryan so it did not really matter who won the GOP primary. This is an election for or against obama.

Why do Republican's claim they love freedom and yet want the government to tell someone what to do with their body? I don't think anyone likes abortion but this is a matter best left to the woman, her doctor and her spiritual adviser. Keep the government out of the bedroom and people's personal lives! Are you listening Alex?

Progressives haven't met an abortion they didn't like!!!!!

Lets face it. Killing children for birth control-YES

Killing children as partial birth abortion-YES

Killing children because they are a "choice"-YES

Keep up the slaughter of innocent life? -YES

Abortion for house hold pets-YES

I bet Mr. Fargo even gives his dog an abortion(s). After all it's just a choice.

Planned parenthood needs to come out with gift cards. What better holiday gift could you give to the expecting mother in your family? Abortion, perfect for every occasion.

Who here can name a type of abortion they don't like?

The RNC :board" is going to vote on the GOP abortion platform today and the full "committee" will vote Monday. Be interesting to see if they let "the people" know what that platform is. Anybody want to make a bet?
Mr. Fargo

Akin basically regurgitated the Republican Party Platform on Rape & Abortion...........he regurgitated their policy platform without masking it...........the GOP who are calling out Akin are a bunch of political frauds ding damage control........they want Akin to take one for the Radical Team...........they all agree with him behind closed doors & have not introduced a change in political stance or policy.
Mr. Fargo

Akin is guilty of saying the Republican Platform on Rape & Abortion out loud..........if the Republican Party is sincere with throwing Akin under the bus, then they need to prove it with their platform when it comes to policy about Rape & Abortion..........in my opinion the GOP are doing nothing but damage control & lip service...........Give me change on the GOP stance policy wise before I will take their phony outcry seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actully saw an article this morning that said if Aken dropped out they would have a better chance of beating McCasKell. They know he is now a boat anchor. I hope he doesn't drop out. The RNC, Rove and Kochs have all pulled their funding and support for him. Keep up the good work Akin.

The media (exc MSNBC) does not do its job. They are as dumbed-down as the general population. What do they think? We are all stupid? If Watergate had happened now, it would have been ignored by the press. There is such a double standard. God, if Obama had done half the stuff the GOP have done, his campaign would have been over. If one of the Obama girls had been pregnant instead of Ms. Bristol Palin, he would have been crucified by the FOX media. This whole thing makes me sick. But this man is actually ahead in the Missouri race. What are the women of Missouri thinking???? We have got to get out the vote for Obama in November. A Romney-Ryan ticket is suicide for this country. The GOP is only interested in preventing abortions but they do not care one iota once the child is born---no education, no food, nada! Wake the **** up, America!
