As speculation heated up that Mitt Romney might pick Paul Ryan to be his running mate, the Ed Show panel shared their thoughts on the possible pick. Here's a look back at what they had to say.
This whole thing this weekend was a PR fixit attempt by the GOP. Romney's poll numbers are tanking. What galls me is the two of them appearing on an aircraft carrier with neither of them having had any military experience whatsoever, nor any of Romney's 5 able bodied sons. I don't get why the military would even want that but for big promises of huge budget allotments to them by RR.
The Ryan budget may as well be called Path to Poverty because it spells poverty for us, and more riches for the top 1% and Romney and Ryan both are in that 1% category.
How many are aware that 60% of incoming Senate freshmen are millionaires, and 40% of House freshmen are also millionaires?
Roughly one half of Congress are millionaires. How could anyone expect them to do a damned thing for us?
Oh and guess what? Romney asked for THREE YEARS WORTH OF TAX RETURNS from all VP possible candidates. Utter hypocrisy.

The paranoid racists want Barack out, we all know that. The closet racist vote is the one to watch for. Be careful what you wish for America. If you think the rich are rubbing your face in it now, you aint seen nothing yet. The Ryan budget is the mother of all shams that will' voucher' what's left of the middle class into oblivion. The giant sucking sound will be your money going to the wealthiest while they have enough to burn .Oh, and with your new found empty wallet, don't forget to save enough for your kids education from Kindy to college, and your retirement fund with the new casino Social Security gambling money.

Linda huston I remember JFK and the right saying he would take his orders from rome and the pope. I guess they now feel it is ok for romney to take orders from salt lake city, and ryan is getting his from rome.
The people were warned by a gop president (ike) about the industrial-military complex, and the people were warned by a gop person (goldwater) about the religious right. The warnings were for all america and not just the gop supporters and guess what their warnings were brushed aside by most people and look what we have today in the gop.
First I cant believe any resonable woman could vote for these two as all they have to do listen to them on women's health and what it means to them and the women and girls in their family.
Second I cant believe any resonable man or woman voting for these men because of their party's attack on voting. social security, unions, the american worker public or private, and wanting to raise taxes on the 99 percenters and give themselves and their friends tax breaks.
Third I cant believe any resonable person would vote for people who want to take away social security, medicare, and other programs that are investments in this country and it's people. I have done some more looking at ryan's plan for social security and he would allow people to put 1/3 of what would have gone into social security in the stock market, and with down turn in the market that money would be change into US government bonds. Big government taking money at what percentage to the people and look the investment firms will make money and the government then pay less on the bonds if the market goes south. Who will lose?
People better wake up that these two men are puppets of wall street, banks, corporations, and are all the gop=tea baggers and if people dont believe this they just need to look at what bills they introduced and pass in the house, and tried to have passed in the senate the bills passed in states in control of these people.
Saw some where some person or cartoon said if these men get elected grand ma and grand pa would be looking for real estate in canada, I would add maybe on a tax haven island where they can hide money and stay warm at the same time..

Ron if only the corporations had not taken over this country years ago, the banksters, the media mobsters, and the rest. Only now we have to listen to their lies and scams mixed in with heavy doses of "religion." We've now got the God mob added to the list.
One thing I can't help but wonder. Many GOP and I am talking the originals called not only Mormonism a "cult" but also Catholicism. So.....................now we've got two cultists wanting to run the country? Where's the outrage now GOP???? When did they finally approve of both as a legitimate form of worship?? Lowering standards much???

Well by yesterday evening CNN had re-dubbed Romney's introduction of Paul Ryan, and lo and behold, according to them Romney did NOT say "the next President of the United States", but VP. Only too many people including myself heard the original version.
So, CNN, God forbid the man gets elected are you going to re-dub every screwup he makes?
I am sure Fox re-dubbed their version also.

donnajoy I saw most of rummy and ryanna's blaber fest. I couldnt believe what these two clowns were saying for over a half an hour. Not one plan just saying how they want to help childern and screw the teachers and the teacher unions, and how bad this president has done in four years. Which would lead me to believe if I was an American worker in the public sector I would wonder what the furture holds for me. Mitty made the remarks how the people of wisconsin showed america that the didnt want anymore public unions and wants to cut public service jobs and not add to them. Rummy and ryanna declared war today on all public and private unions and workers.
They are both hacks for the weathy and corporations and if they take over we will have a country run like a company. If the people cant see how the radical right are stealing the freedoms and rights while playing on the fears of these fools that the government has a war on guns and religion they will go to the butcher shop with smiles on their faces singing the national athem and onward white christian idiots. Nothing against people of faith but these people are hypocrites.. If people are so hateful and vote against their own interest then they deserve what they get...

It is so hard for me to understand how cruel the GOP is. Romney and Paul want to take this country back in time after all the positive things we have accomplished. They both talked smack during the announcement today by the USS Wisconsin. Paul Ryan talked about Mitt's great job creation record while Gov. of Mass when the state was # 48 out of 50. Also, Paul talked about Bain and Sportsmart, which pays minimum wage. I wonder how many of the people in the audience were paid to be there? For such a crowd size, the enthusiasm did not seem to be that great. Funny that Slate.com considered Romney's VP pick to be thrilling. Too bad for the GOP that the public is more aware of the lies that the conservatives without consciences are trying to sell. All we have to do is consider what the GOP run states are doing to their residents to see what their true goal is: more money and power for the wealthy, privatizing whatever they can for profit and taking away rights and money from the rest.

Paul Ryan is against Americanism but he worships Individualism.
Paul Ryan claims he likes opportunity but is against guaranteeing outcomes.......Hey Radical Ryan if you repeal the affordable health care act you are guaranteeing the OUTCOME called DEATH.............if you End Medicare as we know it you are guaranteeing an OUTCOME called death...........if you Privatize Social Security you are guaranteeing an OUTCOME of poverty for the elderly, children & people with disabilities who need it as a safety net........If you destroy Medicaid you are guaranteeing an outcome of Death & Poverty for the sick, elderly, children, & individuals with disabilities & this all takes away from real opportunity...........Public Education, student loans & etc are important to providing opportunity...........the government plays a role in providing opportunity..........................Paul Ryan has collected government paychecks his entire adult life because the only job he knows is his Congressional Paycheck..........he is a lifetime Congressman with zero private business experience and the main reason congress has a 12% approval rating............didn't Mitt Romney claim all Presidents should be required to have Private Business Experience...now he flip/flops and puts Paul Ryan one Heartbeat away from the oval office???????

Linda I agree with you about bush and cheney now it will be romney and ryan. The gop/tea baggers dont have a president they have two clowns acting like a president. I wonder who will be sitting in the oval most the time. LInda did you know that this guy introduced a personhood bill in congress and I wonder how that will set with women voters and peopel with common sense. The base will love it....
Ryan is a sham as he used the social security from his dad's death to go to college, and what I read he must have save up the money to go to college and he really didnt have to work hard as his family owns a construction company in his home town and he worked there for a short time after leaving college(college was still cheap by the sounds of it). This makes him a big hypocrite as he calls entitilements a drain on the government, but he sure used them. The other thing is he has worked more for the government that he ever did in the private sector.He worked for many people in congress and then in 1999 became a congressman and has been one from then to now. Talk about living off the tax payer he sure doesnt have a problem when it comes to his pay check and health care he now wants to deny others.
Like I said if these clowns win you may see my post from one of the tax havens that mitt and his ilk use. Also ryan voted for the oil subsides which will cost us the tax payer 40 billion in the next 10 years, and guess what his in-laws get money from the subsides as well as him and his wife as they are invested in the oil business. So much for the poor boy from wisconsin working hard to make it
to the top on his own, he sure had help for the people around him yet he slams obama for saying you didnt build that company by yourself. There is so much the democrats and others can slam him on it is funny...

Personally I believe it was a Freudian slip. After all Dick Cheney ran the government and the military for 8 years, why should the GOP change their MO now??
