After Harry Reid praised the new preventive benefits for women in the Affordable Care Act which take effect tomorrow, Mitch McConnell took the floor of the Senate and called for another repeal vote by attaching it as an amendment to the cybersecurity bill.
We should be grateful that the Republicans have made it absolutely clear what will happen if we elect them in Novemeber. People who are sick will be in danger of losing their coverage to predatory insurance companies. Women will be denied preventive healthcare by insurance providers with profit as their only motive. Watch it.
This is how the gop=tea baggers work. Add a amendment to a bill that they know the dems wont vote yes on. Then they will say look the dems voted against their own bill or they voted against a bill we all agreed on. This is what they have done for 3 plus years and I am glad for once harry called it out. Every democratic member of the house and senate needs to speak up about this and show how the gop=tea baggers are doing this and make it a campain issue. It is time the dems stop playing nice and get down and dirty.....

Sorry about the last post i got a "little over enthusiastic" at finally being given a reason for so many people who are going to benefit from ACA, being opposed to ACA??? Then i have trouble with the enter key when posting on a blog, too.......all adds up. Sorry.

Anyone get a rebate today?
They were rumored to begin to come out today. Those with individual insurance would get the rebate mailed to them. Those with employer insurance, their employer would get the rebate for the group coverage they had paid for...then the employer could decide what to do with the rebate--perhaps distribute half to the employee or apply the rebate to next years premium or just pocket the rebate for themself. ACA does not specify how the rebate must be distributed. It would have been nice if ACA would require the amount of the rebate be public-ally announced to the employees----oh well, can't have it all.
did you see that article in huffington post? that reported a kaiser poll that had found that the high disapproval for ACA was because many thought they would have to pay the tax.
26% thought they would have to pay the tax for tax-fine, yet they won't because they already have insurance
It was that misunderstanding making 26% oppose ACA---time for all good dems to get their megaphones out and clear up this misunderstanding at a grass root level.....
if a person already has insurance they are unaffected by the tax/fee...for those that can't afford insurance tax credits will be provided to make insurance affordable, to those that can't even afford insurance even with the tax credits they will be excused..(MY COMMENT: they are probably medicaid eligible in those states that choose to enact expanded medicaid eligibility)
For those that willfully go without insurance despite being able to pay for insurance, they will be subject to the tax PENALTY which starts at $95 or 1% of income whichever is greater...escalating up each year they choose to go without insurance--so those with insurance will be totally exempt from the penalty TAX....
Health Care Reform: More Than One-Fourth Of Americans Expect To Pay The Mandate Tax, Survey Finds
BTW(MY COMMENT) .....their are some tea party folks who want the gov to keep their hand of their medicare...so we need megaphones bigger than the pubs.

John McCain just can't let go...He is out on a road trip lying about president Obama every were he goes..He can't handle being the old white guy that lost the election to Barack Obama. TPRebups think Romney should pick Sara Palin for Vp....said that Palin could win North carolina, Penn. and Ohio for him. We are working hard in Va. to get our president re-elected. I hope we carry him again.

Polls show that Americans like the meat of the Affordable Health Care Act & the Republican Party wants to take those things away from you by Repeal..............so Democrats go on the offense & specifically point out what the Radical Republican Party is taking away "Repealing" from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mr. Fargo

This is how to Win The Message War:
Go on offense & point & break it down:
Point out specifically that the Republican Repeal Vote means taking away something:
Taking away keeping your children on you insurance policy until age 26
Taking away end to Pr-existing condition discrimination by the Insurance Company
Taking away the protections that bans life-time caps on your insurance policy
Taking away law that requires insurance companies to spend your premium dollars on health care coverage "80%" that lead to billions consumer insurance rebates.
Taking away.................etc.............

McConnell has been self medicating his cronic case of conservative values again!
McConnell just needs to stand up and say he is in bed with the insurance lobby.
He is not out for his constituents... he is out for himself.

McConnell is an absolute fool. Nothing that comes out of his mouth surprises me anymore. The pubs have proven over and over and over that they are not listening to the will of the people, and if they get majority everywhere, they are going to govern as they damn well please. This is without a doubt the most petty, obstructionist, do nothing band of repubs I have ever seen in Congress in my 63 years. They are a waste of valuable oxygen.
