Romney Tries to Have it Both Ways on Bain and Jobs
posted by Ed Staff | Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Mitt Romney is attempting to have it both ways on Bain and job creation.  During the Republican primary, Romney painted himself as a job creator, touting hard-to-corroborate job creation numbers during his time at Bain.  Romney suggested low paying jobs created at Sports Authority and Staples were evidence of his success as a job creator.

According to the AP, Romney took credit for jobs he created even after his reported departure from Bain Capital in 1999.  "Romney got out of the game in 1999, which has not stopped his campaign from crediting him with jobs created at those companies since then."

Recently, Mitt Romney has come under fire for jobs which were offshored by Bain Capital.  Romney's defense?  The offshoring happened after Romney left Bain Capital in 1999.

So, what are we to believe?  Mitt Romney can take credit for the job creation that happened after he "left" Bain Capital, but he's not responsible for the offshoring?  He can't have it both ways.

Add to that the SEC filing which has recently come to light showing Mitt Romney as the sole stockholder and CEO of Bain as late as 2001, and it's clear we can't believe anything Romney says when it comes to Bain and job creation.  It's all half-truths and obfuscation.

What about that Michael Steele guy? He reminds me of the GOP talking heads that have either been humiliated for goofing up, or are on their way there representing GOP TP crap and trying to look intelligent while arguing for right wing policies and leaders; can you say "voter suppression"? can you say "outsourcing"? "cut taxes on the 1%"?

They are part of the tentacles of the octopus (that ate America).

Real people losing real jobs are a "distraction" according to the GOP candidate's talking heads. They don't count. And when the republican workers get the axe and flushed down the toilet, by their own candidates, how in the hell ? Do they even think about it? NO. They are the "dumbed down" and "distracted". So the GOP knows EVERYTHING about distraction; it's their bread and butter. They succeed off of distraction; fear, racism, ignorance.

SueNooNoo, FOX Curvey Couch, the Drugster, et al; Willard's campaign advisors. Good luck with all the 3 ring circus clowns and their fans.

To stand there and tell the American people that their POTUS is someone that no one short of what their whacked out raving hord believes, is fitting. They belong in a box with a closed lid.

The fact that right wing radicals have such a grip on our gov't is absurd. What has happened to this country? I can't say we didn't see it coming; especially the whole beltway. Obama has a chance to fill a deep chunk in what has brought this country to the brink of a black hole. He might only want to win the election, but this election is revealing how deep the rot goes. Dems who promote corporate-ocracy need to be weeded out too.

Sign me up for Mitt's job.........he claims he does nothing & gets paid

Mitt is now putting on his Resume & job application for the President of the United States that his business experience is know nothing, doing nothing, making zero decisions, managing nothing.........but collecting millions & billions. Mitt is claiming his business experience is no business experience..........he just rakes in the cash because he retired retroactively in 1999.

Mitt is now using the Hogan's Heroes Sargent Schultz defense to defend his time at Bain..........I know nothing, I see nothing, I do nothing.............so how is doing nothing business experience Mitt?????

Mitt Romney claims he has X-amount of years of business experience........until we all learned about the off-shoring of jobs.........then he claims he got paid to do nothing during that time.........so how is it you have business experience for being paid to do nothing during that time Mitt Romney????? How is doing nothing considered experience?????? Mitt even claims his money is being managed by someone else in a blind trust??? so how is that experience Mitt when someone else is supposedly managing & doing everything Mitt?????....maybe the guy doing all of your work gaining all that experience should be the Republican Nominee instead????????????.......Mitt is now claiming his business experience is doing & knowing nothing??????????that is Mitt's defense.........I know nothing... I see nothing.....I do nothing............but I get paid!!!!!!!!!

I challenge Mitt Romney to go to work every day at staples at an entry level position and live on that pay for a year and support a family on that............then maybe he might have a clue....it used to be in this country you had a social contract with the United States government........if you work hard every day & follow the rules & pay your fair share that you could live the American dream.............now you can't afford to live working a full time job at a Staples...............something is wrong.........

You are spot on about staples & sports authority selling tons of foreign made products SlawDogg. Great point............and most of the jobs there are minimum wage, but I bet the CEO & upper management take home most of the profits in their salaries..............so there is income inequality there that mirrors the income inequality problem that is killing the economy..........same philosophy of failed trickle down economics............all the wealth concentrated at the top.

OK, here is a new thought about Bain and Romney.

He uses Staples and The Sports Authority, as two successes of Bain job creation.

Let's do an SKU search of the contents and origin of the contents of these two big box stores.

I can't say for certain, however, I would suggest that over 90% of the inventory of either Staples and The Sports Authority are from places that are NOT the United States. Much of their inventory is from China. Most of the people that they have helped are across the ocean from US!

Please, someone fact check this concept and post your findings. Please tell me how wrong or right I am.

Mitt can't run can't run on he experience as Governor, his only achievement as Governor Romney Care...........so he ran on his Bain Business Experience saying it should be a requirement that all Presidents have to have X-amount of years in Business.........now Mitt is running from that too............so what's left for Mitt to run on............running the Olympics for 2 years...........well he outsourced that too.................now he has nothing to run on & is running from being Mitt..............................there is a possibility that Mitt will get a new challenger from the Radical Right...............is this the perfect opening for a new flavor of the month or a Ron Paul 3rd party candidacy??????????
Mr. Fargo

Running for President is like applying for a job & going through an interview process............so Mitt is basically telling us whats on his resume without letting us see his entire Resume..........................it doesn't work that way Mitt..........not releasing your tax returns & hiding your full financial disclosure while interviewing with the American People for the job of President of the United States either means your an idiot, arrogant or hiding something..........................get my point????
