Reverend Franklin Graham appeared on MSNBC this morning with Willie Geist, John Heilemann, Alex Wagner, and Mike Barnicle to question President Obama's Christian faith, while confirming that of Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. Mitt Romney also got the Graham Heave-Ho when the Reverend asserted the Mormon faith is not considered part of Christianity.
It's a long segment, but worth the viewing. Watch it.
Graham is a radical that deserves no air time. Will Mr. Graham no anything about job creation? I don't give a damn about social issues unless they are trying to TAKE AWAY LONG established rights. The GOP has decided that people are not supposed to have their voting rights anymore either. The voter ID laws at the state level need a full frontal assault by the Justice Department. I wish Attorney General Eric Holder was being more aggressive in dealing with these state's attempts to limit access to voting by requiring ID's, limiting registration such as same day registration etc. There should be voting by mail adopted all across America in all 50 states with a voter registration open literally for six months before each election. When you get a drivers license or any other government service at the state or country level there needs to be a way of registering for voting after proof of residency. Online voting should be extended if and only if it can be made secure which I believe it can be. A mailed in ballot is still probably the best way to go. Why not register at your local Post Office and then send in your registration to vote from there? Then the ballot comes to you by U.S. Mail. This system would be best for most Americans.

Reverend Franklin Graham is a political hack out making money by using his big mouth falsely attacking President Obama. He needs to go away & when the media does interview him they need to call him out as a fraud & expose his playbook & motives. Its all about Graham' wallet & fame!!!!!!!!!

Franklin Graham was a smoking, drinking, hoodlum in his youth. He even admits to it in a book. So I find it audacious that he would point the finger at anyone and accuse them of "not being Christian enough".

Somebody give this guy his hood and sheet with a big cross and noose on the sheet so he is now the grand idiot of the klan. This man is like the rest of is ilk are not what I call christian and they dont live by the word of g-d or christ. My belief is that if you live a good life and live by your religious beliefs no matter what the are you are a good person.
As a side note if you listen to ricky he is saying man has the right to destroy or to put it a harsher term RAPE the earth of all it resources. I guess ricky and newt are planning some americans to move to the moon and set up a white christian, gop= tea bagger nation and then they will RAPE the moon and move on. Someone needs to tell these idiots this isnt a good plan and the earth is not like a piggy bank once all the resources are gone they cant put the pennys back in the bank and start over.
just my humble view

The United States military has the following within its ranks-----Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Bhuddist, and Hindu. There are even chaplains in our military for each one of those religions!
How in God's name is it that we can take this country and declare it a Christian nation, yet allow Jews, Muslims, Bhuddists, and Hindus to DIE FOR THIS COUNTRY???!!!
This is patently absurd on its face! Do these so called Christians like Franklin Graham, Santorum,
McDonald and the rest of these idiots not know this??? Obviously they probably don't since none of them even served in the military. How dare they!
I'll bet you that if any of those non Christians in the military refused to obey an order they'd be slammed into the brig in three seconds for violating their oath to the military.
This religious nonsense has got to stop now! Where are the doctors???? Where are the military chaplains representing these other religions??? Why are we not hearing from them??? Surely the doctors cannot be happy about these draconian laws involving women's health care. Surely this Christian only in America doctrine being forced on this country is a serious morale problem in the military. WE NEED TO HEAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!!

I think what is going on here is the the GOP has traded one tirade for another. In the Bush years they weren't hawking religion so much, the buzzword of that day was the P word====Patriotism. If you weren't Patriotic you weren't American. They've abandoned that because they know Americans are sick of war and so are the soldiers. They know Ron Paul and Barack Obama are the two leading contenders for military money. That speaks volumes.
So they just traded the P word for the C word. Now it's be a Christian or be damned. Never mind that most Wall Street firms are heavily Jewish. Never mind that the entertainment and news industry is also equally heavily populated by Jewish people as well as the publishing industry. What is crazy is this Adelson guy, a Jew, is betting millions on the C word. Go figure.
This too will be an empty argument at the end of the day. And I am hoping that the women of this country will deal it the final death blow. They are now not so much into invading countries as they are into invading our privacy and our bodies.
Congrats to the women of Virginia (and I am sure some men too) for staging a very smart "silent" protest. In this instance silence was truly golden.

What gives Franklin Graham's underlying bigotry away is this: he does not take Obama's word that he is a Christian but takes Newt Gingrich's word that he is--without further adieu or proof, as he expects from Obama. However, if we compare the integrity of the two men--Obama and Gingrich--Obama's daily actions, the way he lives his life and honors his marriage speak far more loudly in witness to Christ than Gingrich's profession of faith and the way he conducts himself. There is no comparison between the two men when we consider, for the lack of a better word from the 60s, the "vibes" they give off.
For all we know Gingrich became a Roman Catholic less from an authentic response to grace or a conversion experience than to have a redemption story he could use to excuse his past behavior and poor character in order to use this story to support his return to elected political life--to run for President. This may not be so and is perhaps unfairly cynical but warranted because in keeping with Gingrich's character and the circumstances of Gingrich's past. Why then does Graham so naively take Gingrich at his word and not Obama? Does Graham see clearly? Is he easily deceived?
Perhaps if Rev. Graham were less political and concentrated more on spirituality, holiness, and becoming more like Jesus Christ instead of a Bible thumper in a business suit he'd develop what great religious leaders, holy men or women, and saints possess: spiritual discernment, knowledge, and insight. Then he wouldn't have to look through a glass darkly to judge.
